Fırat Neziroğlu: From Tradition to the Future with the Anatolian Textile Network
For the Bodrum Begonvil Women's Cooperative, I have designed two different cotton fabrics inspired by the colors of the Begonvil flower, and they have started to be woven on our looms in Bodrum. The fabrics are suitable for the Bodrum geography and climate, addressing sensitivity to sweating, and their colors evoke the Begonvil flowers of Bodrum. These two fabrics, with different textures, are woven using cotton weft and cotton warp. Without the use of Lycra, an elastic texture was achieved through high yarn twist, and the fabrics were created by combining cotton yarns of varying thickness.
Fırat Neziroğlu designed the weaving and color combinations, drawing inspiration from the leaves of the Begonvil flower.
